All of my LA friends have home moorings.   I agree a lot of  these boats do look far past their sell by date and do nothing to enhance the National Park image.

If you are selling the National Park image then these will have to go.

"...having been given a ticket on 5th April for non-registration and non payment..."

Sorry if this sounds pedantic, but the BA are not permitted to issue 'tickets', which most will think of as Fixed Penalty Notices, so I presume you were issued with a Notice of Non-Compliance (also known as a Blue Book warning - see photo), which doesn't carry a penalty.

Yes, I lent the ranger my pen with which to complete it...filled, of course, with invisible ink.

The trouble is I am not sure there is a lot the BA can actually do - the issue I suspect, apart from tolls, is with the landowner and throughout Broadland there are individuals moored, where it is in reality the landowner who needs to take action.

The one beyond the waterworks is adjacent to NWT land, or at least on land managed by them, but they seem to turn a blind eye to it - trouble is he is on a really nice wild mooring I have often used, and as you say, is now permanently occupied. I note he did manage to turn his boat around the other day, and equally that he is not always around - he was I think off in his dinghy!!

Correct Paladine it was one of those non-compliance thingies.  I was hoping there would be no "fine" to pay as such

Just for the sake of clarity, the only way the BA can penalise anyone financially is to issue a summons for a prosecution, which is usually a measure of last resort for persistent, or extreme, offenders.

You could always ask him for permission to double moor  Tinhat

Dreamer,

With my mod hat on I see no reason why members shouldn't discuss any Broads related topic they wish as long as its done with tolerance and respect for others opinions, in this case in particular given the escalation in circumstances it is fully justified.
