Hi
Our April Ludham Parish News says that Womack Staithe will be having the quay heading replaced along the whole length of the public mooring. There will be no public mooring available on the Staithe whilst work goes on. The area will be fenced off.

Projected dates are 16 April to approximately 4 May 2007.

Mods - should this be made a sticky until work is completed ?

Pardon, but is not Womack Staithe a genuine Parish Staithe in which case it can only be closed by the authority of the Privy Council which is a bit like finding Dragons Teeth, not being fuuny and we are after 12 noon.

Glad it's not until 16th as SWMBO has just told me, 'we've got to go up there to buy pies from Throwers'!!

Glad someone has her priorities sorted...

Hi
Yes as far as I am aware it is a Parish Staithe run by a group of Trustees. Money from mooring fees goes into the upkeep of the Staithe, toilet block and cutting the green areas in the village.

It does need doing though.  there are large holes in it right up to the edge where if jumping ashore, you could end up with a broken leg or worse.  Some of it has bits of plywood across it to cover the holes.

Regards

Simon

A bad day on the water is better than a good day in the office.

Hi
Work commenced on Monday to replace the quay heading at Womack Staithe. It seems lots of hirers are not aware that there is no mooring at the Staithe until they get there.
