Hi
I have just bought my first boat and i am now urgently looking for moorings around the Wroxham/Horning area but not The Village Marina as i can't keep 2 big dogs still in a rowing boat!!
The boat is a Colin Facey 26 so not massive but with my untested mooring skills could be a challenge!!
If you have a mooring or know of one can you get back to me ASAP either through here or on either 01945 871311 or 07775573762

Hi Chris,
There are a couple of moorings left i think @ moores peninsula wroxham. It is under new ownership as from jan 2007, the marina owners are Pat & Andy Beardshaw. They can be contacted on 07860 168835.

       regards

TISCA

I am not 100% sure but I think Silver Birches at Horning might still have some moorings available, but I havent got any contact details .  Perhaps the other Forum members might be able to help in this direction.

Cheers,

Andy

Regret to advise that TISCA is quite wrong here. Pat & Andy Beardshaw DO NOT own the moorings.
As from January 1st 2007, ALL moorings at Peninsula formerly owned by Moores will be privately owned, either by individuals, or small groups of businessmen. The moorings referred to are all allocated to individual cottages at Peninsula, for use by the owners.
It may become the case, and indeed is probable, that some of these moorings will be either unused individual cottage owners (or holiday renters), or used only temporarily by individual cottage owners.

Hi
First of all i would like to thank everyone who replied helping me find a mooring in Wroxham,it was great to get some phone numbers and make some calls to some very helpful people.

Secondly,
I am a little confused about the ex Moores mooring situation. I called Andy and visited the site this week and have confirmed a mooring at the ex Moore's moorings next to the leisure centre from early Jan 07 onwards. No mention was made about only private owners or the cottages mooring spaces just that if we liked the spot and wanted a mooring bring the boat over after about 3rd Jan with a deposit and it's mine!! That was straight from the horses mouth so to speak so i am a bit confused now, where did your info come from?
Chris

TISCA and Chris
I'm glad you are both happy with your moorings next to the Peninsula Leisure Centre.
But what I said in my previous post is factually correct. I would now add that, from Jan 1st 2007, each mooring will have a number which corresponds to the number on the front door of the Peninsula cottage to which it belongs. Most of the cottages are presently up for sale, individually. Believe me on this - I have seen with my own eyes the new mooring plan showing this allocation of moorings to cottages.
Some cottage owners may have decided not to have Hoseasons advertise the allocated moorings in 2007, but instead, rent their moorings out separately, and it may just be that it is two of those moorings that yourself and Chris have rented via Mr Beardmore (an ex-Moores employee), who may now be operating as a private self-employed agent.
But according to the new 999 year leases (again, I have seen such a lease),under which the Peninsula cottages are now being sold to private owners, from January 207 onwards it is absolutely certain that these moorings WILL be owned by future cottage owners. Thus by logic and by law, it is also very clear that that Mt Beardmore does not OWN these moorings, either now, or in 2007 onwards.
I have no doubt that fact will become clearer to everyone else when all the cottages have been sold. Meanwhile, enjoy !
