Good afternoon

I’m wondering if anyone could help pointing me in the right direction? I’ve been trying to find a mooring, but to no avail.

I’m looking to move my boat down to the Broads from the Ouse in York and I am after somewhere with easy access to get the boat out to sea now and again from home base. I’ve been given a couple of numbers to ring in a place called Stalham but they have advised that I would not be able to fit under some of the bridges near their yard and it also sounds a fair motor down river to get to the estuary.

I’m wanting to moor a Greenline 45 Flybridge. Would anybody have any suggestions of yards to try?

Many thanks, Saus ??

Thanks all,

I’ll let you know how I get on with some of your suggestions. I have found somewhere this afternoon that has space but unfortunately not 45 foot worth. I’ll keep trying ????

Hi

Had a look at the spec of the boat here https://www.clippermarine.co.uk/new-boat-for-sale/Greenline-45-Fly-FOR-SALE-7130974.html

Looks to be a beauty, but 47’ according the spec and 14’ 6” beam.

Suggest you have a read of these BA vessel dimensions as you may be restricted by the size of your boat.

https://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0021/180633/Vessel_Dimensions_Byelaws-1.pdf

But as  others have suggested base yourself on the Southern Broads. Try contacting NYA at Brundal, this is their kind of boat as they run a ‘cruise in company’ and have moorings in Brundal.

You will be very limited with bridge heights, doubt you’d get under the bridges at Great Yarmouth to access the Northern Broads.

John.

Kind regards, John(Captain
Joshie) , Jo & Ivy the new dog ??.

Edited to add NYA info.

Yes looks like a wonderful boat but not suitable for the Northern Broads at all. Air draft is not quoted but just from looks alone you'd be lucky to navigate any of the bridges!
Unless it is the electric version you may have trouble keeping to the speed limit also. You realise much of the network has a limit of 4mph (3.5 knots), don't you?
