We are coming on the broads again and for the first time we are going over to the river Yare. Rockford broad looks a lovely place but we don’t like stern on mooring. Is it possible to moor in the dyke leading to the staith at Rockford St Mary. Also is the pub at the staith open now.

Sue

Hi Sue. Welcome to the forum. I assume you mean Rockland Broad. There are about 10  side on moorings in the short dyke and about 8 stern on moorings in the Staithe. There was a review on here a few weeks back which would indicate that the pub is open.  Perhaps it would be wise to give them a ring.  Another pub with excellent reviews is Surlingham Ferry. I am not sure about side on mooring  but you can  book a mooring  prior to your visit. Enjoy.
Graham.
