Hi all. I'm just pondering whether to stick with my current annual moorings at Brundall or move to a different part. Partly because we're new to the broads and would like to see some other parts without having to sail for hours to get there, as our visits are limited to weekends, for next year at least. But mainly because the mooring fees will be going up (to 45.50 per ft) and we could do with somewhere cheaper!

Does anyone know of any marinas with electric hook up, toilets etc (and preferably showers?) with a side on mooring for a 23ft boat? Or can anyone recommend somewhere that is reasonably priced North or South?

Thanks and merry christmas to all

If you are a sailing yacht I can thoroughly recommend Hunters Yard at Ludham

thanks for your replies, but Wroxham is probably a bit busy for us, and were in a 23ft motor cruiser.
Has anyone used Coxs boatyard (Barton way), The Vintage Boat Company or Wayford Marine Services for moorings???
Any opinions on them, other than the Ant gets busy in summer?

Top end of the Ant is almost as remote as Brundall but if you want to be out of the hurley burley, that's a compromise you have to make.

We moored at Cox's for 10 years before moving to Horning. It's a lovely spot but when we were there they always had a waiting list longer than your arm.

Hi there ,
Yes the ant does get busy in the summer , but it's all about timing when you leave the boatyard if you choose to moor at any of the yards around the top end  of the ant , we moor at broadsedge , we leave the yard before the Richardsons handover time on a Saturday , before 1pm , we try to avoid ludham bridge just before lunchtime Sunday's ,  as it gets busy with the fleet making there way through or short stays making there way back , sometimes we don't go far at all from the yard , just around the corner to Sutton stathie or paddys lane , so miss the busy times ,

steve and vicky

HI we have moored at Porter & Haylett  for 3 years and do not find it too busy at all. Toilets and showers are kept spotless by the yard manger Cheryl. Also everyone is very friendly and its only 2 mins into town. side mooring is no problem as the moorings are on floating pontoons which rise and fall with the tide so you do not have to worry  about mooring ropes when you are not there. Good luck with your search. Smile
