Trying to get as much info as possible before buying. We both live and work locally and are looking at loads of boats. Trying to learn the terminology before making some informed decisions.

And welcome from me, I,m currently cruising the river Elbe under a merciless sun and although I,m enjoying it I do miss the Broads. I hope you choose well and have many happy days boating.
         Best wishes, Brian.

Welcome from me too.
If you give us an idea of the type of boat you need and a
rough price guide, we may be able to help I'm sure.
When we were looking for our first, this forum was very
helpful to us and through it we made lots of friends too.
Just ask away and we'll do our best to help.

Welcome to the forum. There is a search facility just to the right of the log in button, which will give you access to the amazing amount of information and knowledge that has already been imparted on here over the years (use the blue-bounded box, not the Google  one).

And, of course, ask any questions you like.

Yep, sorry for the late welcome - some of us were roasting on the water for a long weekend....  Eeeeeek.

In the end we went off to the coast for a bit of a breeze instead. Wells was lovely, especially sitting on the deck of the Albatross in the harbour, with cold drinkies and a sunshade - perfect!

Great advice from Mr P. - lots of advice already here for the taking, and the search facility is the best way to find it all, or at least a great route for starters.

Hello and thanks everyone.
We're going to wait until end of season and try and find an ex hire boat we can buy. Our budget is £20,000 give or take. Our dream is a 40' widebeam. Is this a feasible/realistic option?
Any ideas
