Having joined the Forum only recently i think it is appropiate to introduce myself first.

My Name is Stefan and i am 52 years of age. Born and bred in Germany ,i   visited England
for the first time in 1979 , lived in Brighton for a Period of 14  Month in 1980\81.

On one of my later visits in 1995 i first hired from Broom in Brundal for one week , one of their Sea Pilots , yes they did have a hire  fleet then.    I absolutley loved the Broads from that very first encounter and knew i d be back for more.

" Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans " , so it took 15 years to come  back to this beautiful and peaceful Waters. Since 2010 i hire from alphacraft in brundall ,either  their Mustang or Spitfire, and enjoy the comfort of these well  tended Boats for a week  or so every year. Exzellent service and the " extra efforts " that make one   feel  so genuinely welcome,    of everyone at  this place  secures them  my business .   I like to say thank you here to them , and highly recommend their  competent and friendly services  to everybody who has not yet found the right place.

I always share this precious time with my friend who loves  the Norfolk Broads just as much as i do.

We are  both looking forward to May 12 th 2015 when we  will be afloat again " on  Mustang " from Brundal , this time for 12 days , cant wait really. "" Take extra care ,we never seem to be able to go in a straight line. ""

First Night will be in Loddon , then probably cross  Breydon on the 13 th , so if  we do meet  please let us know, always happy to meet nice people.

Wishing you all a good 2015 , always sail safe ,
With a friendly smile

Stefan and Frank

Stefan , sail safely all of you

What a lovely introduction. Welcome to the forum and the Norfolk Broads.

If I am a "woody" how come there are no "fibreglassy's" "plasticy's" or "steelies"?

welcome Stefan and Frank
Hope you have a lovely holiday. Don't forget to print off an NBF poster to put in one of the windows of your boat. Look at the bottom of the page  'My Logo'

Welcome to the forum Stefan. Where in Germany do you live, I usually take a trip there every 4 or 5 months. I,m going to Munich in March for a few days and then a week on the Broads in May. I,m spoilt for choice because I,m based in Prague but the hassle of travelling to Norfolk, although a little tedious, is so worthwhile when I arrive at the boatyard and start cruising at a leisurely speed. I hope our watery paths cross so that we can swallow a drink or two.
                              Happy boating, Brian.

nazdar,
