Hi my name is Amanda, we have just booked our first holiday on Broads for august (myself, hubby-who holidayed on broads as child many many years ago, emily 18, chris 13 and our dog Roxy) We pick up our boat Grande Girl from Wroxham on 3rd aug. Its meant to be a special holiday as on 7th is double celebration as i turn 40 and chris 14. Any advice would be much appreciated as starting to worry a little bit. Thanks  Question

Welcome to the forum. Great boat, good choice. You'll have a ball Smile  Just remember, this is Norfolk & there's no need to rush any thing, and you'll be fine.

Hello Amanda,

Welcome to the forum and the Broads, there is nothing better than messing about in boats.
Just take it easy and watch the world go by and let the therapy kick in.

I hope you have a great holiday.

Regards
Alan

Hi Amanda
If you're looking for a good pub meal on the 7th I would recommend the New Inn @ Horning, just remember they do get very busy so book in a table & mooring in advance Gus will help you moor.
Great pub & great food.

Hi, Amanda...welcome to the NBF. Cheers

You couldn't have picked a nicer boat. Summercraft are a first class yard who really care for their boats. You'll have a great time..just chill and take it easy. Smile

Hi Amanda,

Summercraft are the reason we are poor people these days! We first hired with them years ago (Gardina Girl) the boat was absolutely fantastic, the staff at the yard and service from them was second to none. In fact we had such a great time we hired again within 3 months and ended up buying our own boat!

Summercraft boats are always well turned out and there is a personal touch and excellent instruction, guess that's the advantage of a smaller yard.

Take your time and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the broads, don't try to cram too much in and race from place to place, don't worry about missing anything because you will be back! People often ask for routes and schedules etc, don't worry about that stuff, just get a Broads map do a little research, look at the map in the evening over a glass of something cold and refreshing and pick you next days destination.

If your late picking the boat up, then Salhouse Broad is an excellent first night stop, its only about 1/2 an hours cruse from Wroxham and there are usually plenty of moorings, either on the island or by the bank.

Enjoy

Edited because my brain works faster than my fingers.
