hi everyone, i am the new proud owner of caravelle. i have a little cleaning to do before i can start work on her but had a good day there today, was windy and pooring down but had a great day.
as ade has written i live nr ipswich and i am the farm teamleader at hollowtrees farmshop and farm trail. i lived in denmark for 21 years before returning to uk 6 march 2011. i'll be on the boat as much as possible the next 2 months fixing her up, but due to my lads at work wanting holidays i probs wont have regular days off. please stop and say hello if i'm there will be nice to see you all. once weather gets better then a bbq and beer on me for all that helped and those who would have.  Cheers

Gary, best of luck with your renovation plans. I notice on your profile that you are interested in Radio Caroline. Can we expect a radio mast on Caravelle?

Hi Gary

A BIG welcome to the site and the Forum family.

I wish you all the luck with restoring her back to her former glory.

Sorry about all the extra nails and staples in her  Playful Wink  and if you find a Stanley Staple gun (Aircraft Aluminium written on it) onboard during your clean up please let me know as it has gone missing during the raising operation.

Once we get our boat 'Dawn Princess' out and about we will stop by and say hello in person.

How did you go clearing some of the mud out today? I've still got loads on my dry suit if you fancy a bit more cleaning! Smile .

Good luck and keep us posted.

John.

Hi Gary01 and welcome to the NBF

May I suggest you open a new thread in the 'Projects' section?

You can then keep us informed at your leisure (With photo's of course) of yours and Caravelle's progress.

Thanks and great to have you onboard

If we see anyone about near Caravelle w/c 12th May we'll give you a toot and a wave.  (Moonlight Shadow)

I've been reading the raising thread and keeping quiet despite my huge admiration for everyone who took part as I'm just awestruck by the knowledge, efforts and team spirit.

I rather think a good forum username for you might have been "Phoenix"!

Hi Gary,
Welcome to the mad house,  Good luck with Caravelle you certinly have your hands full for a few weeks  Evil Grin   Dont forget to Insure her, being a wooden boat thats not going to be easy but Basic Boat insurance will cover you for now when she is restored get a survey and go for a fully comp policy.

Best wishes
