If you can get under Wroxham Bridge, why not go up to Coltishall? It is a lovely part of The Broads and quieter than going the other way. There are lots of side on moorings and several pubs to choose from.
Personally, I am not a fan of pub moorings and never moor there unless forced. My preference for a great place to stop would be to go to South Walsham Broad and drop the mudweight in the middle. This is one of my favourite ways to spend the night. No pub but you can get alcohol and food from Roys in Wroxham.
There are lots of side on moorings at Acle Bridge and the pub there is OK. Thurne dyke is also side on but you might want to get there early.
I wouldn't be too concerned about stern on mooring, just take it very slowly. You could enter a Broad and practice a bit of reversing.
I find in general the steering has very little effect in reverse so when reversing I leave the steering on full lock from when I have turned the boat to point the stern/back toward the bank. I then reverse very slowly and as necessary use a short burst of throttle in forward gear to straighten the boat up continuing to reverse and repeating the action as required.
There may be better methods but this works for me.
