Hello!
Our first holiday on the Broads is now getting close and we'll be cruising on the Southern Broads. I'm just wondering if anyone has any general advice on the correct (or preferred) way of mooring up to combat the "rise and fall" in water level, which from the look of things can be a good few feet on the Southern rivers! Any advice will be gratefully received!

Lots of info here, tide range varies massively depending on river and how far up stream you are. Take your time, be prepared to alter your mooring line as the tide changes, we all get it wrong some times.

Yes, big variation, compared with the north
Even in sheltered spots, we were moored by an owned boat , last week,at rockland, who came in bow first and were stuck, suspended by the bow on the staithe , due to too tight mooring lines
Loose is good, eye on the tide as you arrive, Spring lines essential
Have sharp knife and can burn water

Always approach the mooring against the tide.
Take it slowly and you'll be fine.
