Hi Mark The thurn is one of the shortest distance and the safest to embark on your return from pub along with Stokesby which you will go past on your way to thurne dyke both do meals and good vitamin p,and less of a hangover if you leave windows open on the broads. John

I have no idea what the majority of this post means, but Acle to Thurne Dyke via Stokesby sounds a bit of a long way round.

It was our intention to travel up river for an hour at most then return and moor outside the Bridge Inn for the night.
The chap who showed is around the boat, how to tie moor lines etc recommended that we run the engine for 3-4 hours to charge the battery.
We did this so moored for the night just before the turn to the river Ant. Luckily we had brought food with us.
