Hi folks
Thanks for accepting me in to the fold!
Trying to do a little bit of planning for our first time trip on the Broads. 4 adults in their 50's (but very young!!!) like nice food and the odd beer or two!!
I have done a bit of browsing through some great blogs and one thing seems to be clear.......don't bother doing an itinerary!!??
We are booked on the Glow of Light 1 out of Herbert Woods in Potter Heigham from Monday to Friday in June.
Can anybody give me a bit of guidance on which way to head, things not to miss and what pubs/restaurants are a must. Many thanks, Nick

Hi, welcome. You have long days at this time of the year. If you can get under Potter Heigham Bridge (boatyard will tell you if this is possible, Pilots will tell you if it is practical at the time) then a day and night at Horsey (walk to beach and pub) and Hiclkling is worthwhile. The other direction will take to you to Womack (maybe last night stop depending on mooring space) South Walsham Broad (walk to village) Ranworth, Salhouse, Wroxham, and/or up the river Ant towards Stalham, passing through Ludham Bridge, Barton Broad (moorings etc Neatishead, Gays Staithe Sutton, Stalham. Loads of other places to stop and walk and visit pubs etc.

You will be back for two weeks next year so don't try to see everything this year! Just enjoy what you see. Happy hols! Other ideas will be available!

Hi Nick Moor at Salhouse broad walk along track to village BUT turn left when you get to road stroll up the  hill to the FUR and Feather its next door to Woodforde's brewery very good food and even better beer. start at left barrel and work your way along to the strongest at the end one. VERY dangerous pub my wife hates me going there by myself especially now they are open all day. the pubs and eating in Horning are good if you can get a mooring If you go to the Lion at Thurne dyke make sure you are starving very big portions with plain wholesome food, enjoy your holiday John
