Hi,

I have been away from the Broads for some time, but we are back up there in October.  Smile

I have seen on Utube, and from what I have read on this forum, that there have been a number of significant changes and upgrades to mooring areas and some of the river banks.

Filling up the water tank was always a problem in the past; long queues for the water points or , as happened a number of times on South Walsham Broad, some idiots filling up their tank then settling down for a brew or a meal. On one occasion I had a full and frank discussion with one moron after he had wandered off for a walk and on his return 30 minutes later, asked him if he was naturally ignorant, or had he had special training?

I know there is water available at the boatyards, Ludham Bridge and Ranworth, but have there been any other water points created over the last 7 or so years?

I am sure I have seen a list of water points somewhere, but I cannot remember where!  dunce

Cheers,
Chris

Not sure that there are specifically new water points, but various ones have been refurbished.  South Walsham, Ludham Bridge, Ranworth, Ludham Staithe, Potter Heigham, Martham are a few water points that spring to mind on the North Broads.

The main thing is, that in mid-October, there are very unlikely to be any queues.  It is already getting noticeably quieter, and by then there will be even fewer boats about.  And those people who are keen enough to be boating right at the end of the season are (IMHO) more likely to be of the co-operative type.

Thanks for the updates and information Jeremy-Aslan, that's brilliant.  Smile
A great website Alan, full of very useful information; just what I need. Having followed the link I suddenly recognised the page as being the one I could not remember!  dunce My wife tells me that if I had a brain, I would only just get to 'idiot' level intelligence. Nice to know she thinks so highly of me.  Smile

Cheers,
Chris
