Hi, when you say wifi, I presume you mean 4G reception. I moved from Vodafone to 3 last year and got good 4G around most of the northen broads. Suggest that when you get here you buy a uk SIM card with unlimited data , that will be a lot cheaper than using your existing one, or as already said, most pubs have wifi nowadays

Wi-Fi is hit and miss just about anywhere on the Broads. Horning is one place I always struggle to get a signal. Just be careful when using public Wi-Fi in a pub or restaurant as they can sometimes tell what you are looking at e.g. don't look at anything personal.

Hi. I do not mean 4G. We did purchase UK SIMS (Tesco worked very well)for our phones as NZ Vodafone roaming charges are eye-wateringly usurious. I mean wifi for our tablets to use email, Messenger, and internet banking. Even the ocasional Skype call (which we managed at Thurne Dyke on one occasion). The boat was equipped which is what I presumed to be a wireless modem. Richardsonns changed it half way through our holiday, though thta brought no improvement.
Thanks
Chris

Hi

Do you use a mobile phone for internet access in New Zealand, if yes on what network? You might want to check with your network if they allow use in the UK. I used my iPhone on '3' network when in Australia getting 3G and 4G no problem and using my UK data allowance at no cost!

If your provider doesn't have a reciprocal agreement with a UK just pop in to Tesco at Stalhamand buy a couple of pay as you go sims, one on Vodafone and one on '3' Network, that with give you pretty good coverage in most places. 3 Network charge 1p per 1Mb, you load the card (purchase thr top up at Tesco when you buy the sims), the sims cost 99p so not a bank buster!

My wife and I do this so as to always have the best coverage, except we are both on monthly contracts because we are here all the time of course.

Might also be worth checking with Richardsons if the boat is fitted with a mobile mifi (wifi on 3/4G), some of their fleet are.

John.

Kind regards, John(Captain
