Is there a decent priced gps Speedo on the market suited to slow speeds, ideal for the Broads. Thx

I have used the etrex for some years now and find it good value and easy to use. It can run via 12v or with 2 batteries. Garmin is good as well.

Many free apps only display in whole mph, and for relatively slow boat speeds it is useful to have a decimal place. One such app I have seen is 'GPS Test', which has a few useful features, including a 'Night Mode' (where the screen goes a dim red). Free for basic version, with prompts to upgrade to the paid one.

I use a plumbed in Wema GPS speedo, (see picture attached, apologies for the dust, it was taken during winter work), appears to be pretty accurate.

I use my Garmin Sat-Nav from the car. It registers 10ths of a mile per hour - e.g. 3.8mph, plus it has the advantage of showing exactly where I am on planet earth. I've checked the low speed accuracy with a stop watch and found it to be very good. It registers down to about 1.0 - 1.5 mph. I always know our speed. Can't remember the price exactly - but round about the £60 mark. The bonus is - as it is used both in the car or on the boat, I didn't have to buy an additional system. Carol & Malcolm wish you Blue Skies, Fair Winds and Favourable Tides For my Birthday, I thought that Carol had told me that I could be 'Right About Everything' for the whole day. But I was wrong!
