My main PC was upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7, without my requesting it, a little while ago. The update went smoothly (once I found out you need to connect the PC to the modem/router with an Ethernet cable - it can't upgrade on a wireless network, as the wireless card drivers aren't installed until after the upgrade).

I was rather cross and apprehensive at the time, but have found no problems (yet) and certain peripherals (scanner, webcam) which Win 7 updates had completely b*ggered, are now working again. I'm sticking with Win 10 (but I'm keeping my XP computers - just in case).

I spent half a day downloading and installing W10 on this PC last year, then found it couldn't recognise my router so I uninstalled it. I'm going to stay with W7 until I have to replace the PC now.

I upgraded on a cloned HDD so I can still run on my old win7/win8.1 dual boot setup and change over when I'm ready, don't realy want too though.

I have been running 10 for about 9 months on the original upgrade, it has worked well for me certainly far fewer glitches than I used to get with 7, yes there are one or two features I might have changed but doubt there is any system that is all things to all people, you pays your money and takes your choice or you take what in todays world is a rarity a free bee

I reinstalled Windows 10 a couple of weeks ago and am glad to see that most glitches have been fixed with patch/updates and printer drivers are finally part of the OS so no problems there now.
I still get pop-up warnings that USB storage devices need to be formatted, however, waiting a few seconds brings up the flash drive menu and the devices open with no problems.

Good to see the ones using Windows 10 are enjoying it after all the scare mongering , I installed it day one and really not had to many problems , Edge was playing up the stock browser but that's been fixed , the only other thing I have had was a display driver was not loading but managed to fix that since then all is great very happy computer is responsive and very fast ... So guys if you don't have remember it is only free till the 29th of July after that Microsoft will be after your hard earned cash so grab it while you can Microsoft don't give much away I do beta testing for them and have done for many years and I can tell you they are very tight ... cheers ...

I have a pre-installed windows 8 machine. I have been told by the manufacturer that if I upgrade to windows 10 then my warranty will be invalidated. As I have taken out an extended warranty for three years I will not be upgrading.

Please be aware of the small print, if you are in a similar situation.

Waterbuncy If I was you I would seek some other advice because that is a lot of rubbish , if you buy a computer you can put any operating system you like it dose not invalidate your warranty in any way so who ever told you that is wrong , a warranty is for hard wear nothing to do with software , the reason I no this I bought a new computer with vista on it as soon as I got it out of the box I re installed it to Windows 7 the computer broke down I could of fixed my self but as it was under warranty I sent it back , had on problems getting it fixed hardware not software operating system is your choice not there's cheers ...
