Don't know about best but I've just restarted my 30 day rolling Huawei contract with EE. Managed to get signal in alot of places last year. It is 3G or 4G depending on the signal available I believe but may be wrong! All I know is it worked in most places!

It is not always necessary to have these wifi boxes. If you have a smart phone you can pair it to a bluetooth tablet. So your 4G data goes via phone to tablet.

Depends whether you can get a data only sim at a good rate. Might work out cheaper to get a cheapo smartphone on a PAYG sim with a load of data thrown in. I use a titchy Alcatel Pop C1, with a Three 321 Sim card. Data doesn't expire every month like a lot of data sims. 3p per minute calls, 2p per text and 1p per Meg of data. Extra 150 meg data every time you top up. (Other sims and packages are available) Playful

Regards, Ray.

I also use a mifi (Huawei)Three. Had one for a few years  only place  i can recall it failing is Rockland  saint Mary. Like others i get 3g and 4g if I'm lucky at certain places. I usually put a tenner on for a weeks holiday. mind you that's was before the kids had tablets and can now stream videos lol
