Hi Guys. I have used Jotun Seaforce 30 antifoul and I am finding it hard to get.
Can any of you send me a link to a supplier.
Or. Can you recommend a good antifoul for a reasonable price.
The boat is fiberglass and only used in freshwater.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
Jim

If you don't use your boat. Sell it.

'Evening, jimfin . . .

I believe Jotun Seaforce 30 may have been discontinued and superseded by Jotun Seaforce 30 M - which this supplier appears to have in stock:

https://www.smlmarinepaints.co.uk/antifouling?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0PLTuJGn6AIVFuDtCh3gFwO6EAAYAiAAEgJlEfD_BwE

Hope that might help.

Steve.

Hi Jim

A quick google search showed that it is no longer available, but has been replaced with Seaforce 90.

One supplier had this notice;-

Please Note: SeaForce 30 is no longer available online. It has now been replaced with Jotun Mare Nostrum

For more information on availabilty of this product, please call us 01803 856771

I think from what I’ve read it’s because it is a high copper based anti foul and can only be supplied to commercial operation.

To be fair the EU did try to stop all non professional use of anti foul paints, so may be something to do with its restricted supply.

You could change to one of the boards antifoul, Blake’s springs to mind but there are many others available.

Have a google and you’ll find much info out there.

John.

Hi Jim

A look on this suppliers website confirmed my thoughts that it can only be supplied to Registered Users.

https://www.elmbridgesuppliesuk.com/products/jotun-seaforce-30-anti-fouling/

I think your going to have to either become a Registered User and whatever that entails or use another type of antifoul.

Maybe an email to Jontun and ask for their advice.

John.

Kind regards, John(Captain

Hi Jim I also use this one, it lasts four times longer than ordinary antifoul, unfortunately the eu has stopped non commercial users using this you will need to talk to a boatyard to get them to get it for you,or wait until December when we come out of eu and this restriction is removed. John

I live in Ireland and can get it at a very marked up price like €139 for 5L.
You guys are out of the EU since January,as far as I know.
Just one more though. Do you need to use antifoul in freshwater???

If you don't use your boat. Sell it.

Hi Jim Yes you do need antifoul in fresh water unless you pressure wash every year as many boat yards do, they proberly lift out every year anyway so not a cost issue,  is a lift out pressure wash cheaper than antifouling every four years. although we have come out of eu we are still bond by the rules that were in force until December when the transition period comes to a end, not sure what impact this virus will have on negations bond to have some as they will be unable to thrash out the rules of commerce between us and eu with travel restrictions ect.
