So we assume you have two alternators, two ammeters and -  how many batteries? It's still a bit confusing to me, but it's difficult to know without actually seeing where all this fits. What are you trying to achieve? Is there a problem with the set-up, or is it just for your own need to know what the object is? Whatever, it doesn't look in very good condition!  Wink

Regards, Ray.

Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

Hi Ventura It's likely to be a 100 amp plus solenoid switch what does it ie when you switch on does it click/clunk, what ever it look past its days and if the rest of your wiring is similar suggest you get it replaced you don't say if you have one or two engines twin alternators how many and if more than two banks, you say the wires go to the dash what/where are they connected to, need more info. Hi There

Based on the replies (Thanks) I think Steve51 has correctly identified the part as a Lucas split charging system.

I was just tryig to identify it. Im going to replace it based on the other peoples observations...Thnaks again.
