I use Alan Boswell insurance and never been asked to have a survey. Try them 01603 649650 they should be able to help. Good luck.

If you want to stay with your current insurers, I suggest you ask them exactly what sort of survey they will accept. Although they all tend to refer to a 'survey', some will accept a 'boatyard report', and some are happy with an in-the-water surveyor's report, which will be less detailed than a before-purchase survey.

I moved to Alan Boswells last year for the same reason. All very straightforward and a local firm.

As far as I am aware, the company Alan Boswell is an insurance broker ( agent) , rather than an insurance company,  so presumably they place cover on a clients behalf with any of various actual Insurers. It is possible they only use one particular company for marine policies so does anyone know who that is?

Ah, right, thank you. We are with Navigators & General and have been for 15 years. Excellent cover, good service and when we did suffer damage they were superb.

I can highly recommend  them.
