Just as a bit of additional information my solar panel is directly connected to my two domestic batteries via a double pole switch and fuse. this means that there is no voltage lost via split charge diodes etc. and it is still connected (as is the bilge pump)when we leave the boat with the main isolator turned off. When we winterise I link the domestics to the starter battery so they are all fed from the solar panel.
