Thanks guys. I normaly heat the water when cruising, and have no problem. Just that the 1200W heater is fitted. Think I'll leave the heater alone!!!

If you don't use your boat. Sell it.

Hi Jim If you/do you? have mains on your mooring you can use the immersion heater and heat the water and in winter you my find that it can flow around engine and preheat your engine making starting better. John

how does this work? does the water naturally flow around the engine cooling loop due to the hot water rising and the cold sinking or is a small pump required?

Also get an “airing cupboard” effect from that spare heat in the drawers under the bed!!

Hi Adrian Yes you CAN get a thermosyphon effect thats why many systems have a non flow valve to stop this happening when not required and to control the system better. John

Get yourself a small generator.....it will heat your water in about 40 mins, and give peace of mind should you ever drain your batteries....I always carry one .
Kawasaki 1400 should do you .
