My d2 will not fire up. I press start on the panel and it registers start, but that's it!
There is no sound out of the unit. I pressed and held the start on the panel and data came up but cannot get the AF to show.
Only thing I did was change the battery for a new one. Any advice please.

If you don't use your boat. Sell it.

Hi Silly question have you pressed the reset button, did you have you checked all the connections are clean and have good contact on the faces, have you replaced all the wires that you took off, does the battery start the engine?, do you have a voltmeter if so connect to the thick supply wire to heater, then start it, what voltage drop do you have, these heaters are very serseptial to low volts,is battery fully charged should show 13 plus volts. new batteries that have been in stock for a long time can be faulty.John

The reset button from memory is just a small button on
the case somewhere. I had to do mine several years ago
but can't remember it that well now! Here's an image
from their website showing the button with the casing
removed. If it's not easy to get to, try unplugging
the 14 wire connector for a few minutes.

The older I get...
The better I was....!!

Should have replied sooner but I only got it sorted today. Man with spare D2 came down with a diagnostic unit. It turned out it was a bad fuse connection. Even though I had tested it with a bulb and it was OK. When the load came on not good enough

Hi Jim Easily done voltmeter/bulb tester doesn't give a load to test connections a headlight bulb or pump that have a high wattage amperage work well as a test kit, that's way i suggest that all contacts are smeared with vaseline before they are connected to stop these corrosion problems that you have had, boat environment is rife with this type of problem, works one day temp change then not the next, pleased your sorted  it out, good learning curve.
