Most of the instruments on my boat are VDO make, but the rev counter is different. There is only the logo on the front, no name or initials. The label on the back is scratched and incomplete. See pics.

Can someone please ID it for me?

From what's left of the name, could it be a Durite?
Would be better to know what else is written where it says 'Range'.

I've taken some more photos.

This composite pic shows a strip of silvery paper, which at one end say 'Adjust' and at the other end 'Range'. I don't think that helps much.

I had thought of Durite, but their logo is completely different and they put the name on the face of their gauges. I've taken another picture of the label and it looks to me as if the name is d u l something.

I haven't heard of ISSPRO, but their logo is different and they, too, put the name on the face of their instruments.

Sorry can't find the logo anywhere.

Just a thought. if you reminded us of your boat model and age it might help narrow down the search because there Is a probability the same gauges were fitted to similar boats.

Yours seems unusual because it only reads to 3000 revs.

All the others I have seen are between 4 and 8.

Good luck in the quest

Graham

The maximum engine rpm are 2,400, so a 3,000 max rpm instrument is adequate. The boat is an ex-Truman’s Bounty 30, from around 1984. I’m guessing that the tachometer is original, as I have receipts going way back to the first private owner, and there’s no mention of any replacement being fitted since it left hire.

I have looked at about six bounty 30s of 1980 ish vintage and they all have different tachos to yours.

All rated to 4 +. And paper bigger.

I am wondering if your tachometer was engine specific in other words it came with the engine not the boat.

Looking for similar engined boats whether or not they are a bounty may be the way forward.
