A couple of hardwood battens supporting the teak flooring panels in the cockpit have come adrift, not bad after four years I guess.

VERY easy to remove the old adhesive, peeled off in almost single rubberised strips. So I’m a little reluctant to use “Gorilla” type glues which will almost inevitably destroy the wood fibres or the paint protection of the (steel) hull should any battens need to be replaced or moved in future. Recommendations? 3M 5200?

Suggestions welcomed…

Peter

Yeah, but which one?

There are so many now, I've lost track of the numbers!

FYI - another Sikaflex product mentioned in Sikaflex Marine Handbook is Sikaflex®-298 Teak Flooring Adhesive/Bedding Compound  Maybe worth calling their tech dept for the most suitable product

Cheers - Paul

Thanks all for taking the trouble to reply.

I was advised that 3M 5200 was TOO permanent, 3M 4200 was the one to go for, ended up buying a tube locally from A.S.A.P. Supplies. I'll let you know how it holds up...
