Our new boat has been fitted with the T&H flooring in
the aft cockpit but looks a bit drab, so is there a
way to bring out the colour and maintain that 'new' look?
I'm sure Iv'e seen mention of it somewhere on here but
I can't find it  Blush
Thanks peeps  Cheers

Hi BuffaloBill What about decking oil it is cheap and readily available and waterproof and non slip, I would try a tiny patch first in case it is not to your liking.

Thanks Phil. May try that.

"How about a nice carpet Bill"
It used to have carpet! Matthew had the T&H fitted
for himself!
The previous owner to Matthew was a guy with dogs
and they ruined the carpets inside and out.
We are still finding dog hairs despite a thorough clean!

We had T&H fitted throughout Malachite to replace the previous ply covered with carpet tiles. So much easier to clean up after our black labradors have been moulting. Our flooring is not exposed to the weather so we haven't had a problem with fading or discolouration yet. It also appears very resistant to claw scratching.

Is it "proper " Teak or veneer ? If proper it will take a light  sanding and a re varnish , if veneer a good scrub and a varnish is as much as you could risk  IMHO.

Bill, when I used run a scout troop, we had 2 halls totaling about 1800 sq ft of hardwood floor. We used to sand and treat it every 5 years with a product called Bourne Seal. It used to stand the wear and tear of about 150 kids using it 5 nights a week.

Don't know if this would work on your boat.

Hi Bill

'Our new boat'? dose that mean you don't have the Sheerline, what is the new pride and joy?

Thanks for all the replies so far.
May try the decking oil first and see how it goes.
It's not an urgent job but will need doing, so I'm told!
Adi, just for you! Another Sheerline of course!!
