Why not shared ownership boats and how would they know?!

Royalls take the stance that shared ownership boats are in competition with their hire fleet.
There are not that many shared boats, its fairly simple to find out which boats are shared via the internet. I suppose there may be some syndicates which only have a few owners that are not so obviously shared craft.
