Hi does anyone know if privately owned boats are allowed to moor at hire boatyards, outside of changeover days? Thanks

From the notices outside most of the yards they are available for boats from other hire boatyards but not for private boats, I have asked at a few in the past but those I asked refuse to let me moor even at times when the weather was not good.

Herbert Woods let you moor for a fee we have used them even Barnes and Royalls in worxham but they all normally charge so long as they space. There maybe others as well.
The one that has a sign to say no is faircraft in wroxham others you would have to ask.

Some will let private boats moor for a fee. I believe Barns and Herbert Woods for instance do this.

hi there ,
i've usually moor in some hireboat yards over our easter / august / october hols , i always offer to pay a mooring fee , some take it , some won't it take but thank me for the offer , just remember though to keep away /out of hireboat yards friday's , saturdays , due change over of boats ,the only yard i've heard of that does'nt let private boats moor in , is faircraft lyons ,

Richardsons let privateers moor at Stalham, although common sense should be applied and busy times avoided.

Drl marine services at womack water let you moor during the week (4£)but have to move by 9am Friday good moorings and only 50p more than parish staithe and a better view down river,this is a fairly new service you couldn't moor there before even if you was a hire boat they are not in the federation

I always enjoy dropping in at Martham Boats but apart from that I can't think of a less appealing mooring spot than a hire boatyard! Handy for service or advice, but also risky spots to moor for those of us who cherish our paintwork or gel coat.
