I had a brand new Ebby fitted and never had any problems whilst i had the boat ,should i ever be in the position again ,and after knowing now what i did not know then ? - i would go down the gas route providing i had enough room for two bottles in the gas locker , i would also be inclined to have some form of catalytic heater as a back up and for those times when you need warmth - but you could do without the noise ,the ticking noise from the pump of a diesel system used to drive me mad .everybody of course will have there own opinion - but thats just mine
Well Gas for me personally would be the very last resort.
The ticking from the pumps can be a problem I do agree, but with a bit of cunning and forethought that can be reduced. We used to suffer from the ticking horrendously onboard, it is much better now and after our latest mod (still on our snagging list) should be sorted once and for all. Then I'll post up details and everyone will have no excuses to put up with the blasted ticking ever again. Mind you in spring/summer/autumn ours is never on overnight anyway.
