Hi All Question is that the revcounter doesn't work, well it does very intermitentley work now and again. Is the little screw in sensor on the flywheel housing, circled in the photo, what picks up a pluse for the rev counter? and is it adjustable i.e. if you undo the lock nut and screw it in a little to get it closer to the I guess a magnet fitted on the flywheel it might then pickup the the revs better. I've had a look at the alternator and I can't see any conection to that so it doesn't look like there is a 'W' feed for the rev counter, so I'm guessing that this is an older magnetic pluse type of rev counter. Also is there anyway to stiffen up the Morse lever as mine slips off the set position and drops the revs down at 4 to 5mph setting which is frustrating as I have to apply a little pressure to stop it slipping. Cheers. John

The crimp connector looks new, try removing it & clean the contact it slides onto, it may be that there is rust or even paint causing a poor connection.

Hi I have had the same problem with throttle creep since owning my boat and this has now been cured at this years service. As you can see its a very simple clamp that just increases the friction of the cable to eliminate the problem. Brooms supplied the bit and I don't know how much yet or if they made it or bought it in. Apparently there is no friction adjustment on the control pictured.

Hi 555tcv and fendoff 555tcv, I've replaced the terminal and cleaned the spade conector, next thing will be to try replacing the cable, I'll just run it across the boat first before fitting it under the floor though fendoff, thanks for the info on the Morse, I'll make up a similar clamp as it looks a simple solution. I was think I might have to replace the whole Morse control lever which wouldn't be cheap! John
Kind regards, John(Captain Joshie)& Jo, 'Rosie L'Ondine' L799.
