Hi John

I have 'posted' the same question on the Viking Owners Club forum, but as yet no response.

I'll wait and see what the WRC's workshop are able to come up with on Monday.

Many thanks

Dave

Vikings responce is as I would expect, they are protecting their dealer network, you cant order spares direct from a motor manufacturer, only via a dealer.

It also says "Remember, you can always call us on 01371 875214 if you need any help" and gives the names, addresses and phone numbers of three Viking agents.

What did Viking actually tell you when you spoke to them?
Have you spoken to any of the agents?

I spoke to two Viking Agents, who both directed me to Wilkes or Trend Marine, which as I said earlier, was a 'dead end' as far as this particular fendering is concerned.

A Broads Based boat builder/repairer, suggested that I try Vetus, which I did, and again 'no joy'.

I haven't contacted Viking direct, as I was told that they only supply parts to the 'trade'. Perhaps I was misinformed?

Anyway, the work (including the Gelcoat repair) is now in the hands of the WRC, who will hopefully have better luck than me in sourcing the correct fendering.

If they can source the material fairly quickly, then there's a good chance the boat will be in the water next weekend  Smile

Well, it seems that I was fed some duff information.

Spoke to Viking Boats this morning, who were very helpful and accomodating, and offered to supply me with the parts I needed.

I drove over to Dunmow, collected the 'bits', and then delivered them up to the WRC, who will now be able to complete the work. Smile

180 miles in all, but worth it to get the boat sorted, and into the water. Hopefully, this coming weekend.

A really friendly bunch of guys at Viking, and the 'Boss' showed me around the factory, where various models were at different stages of construction.

Thank you Viking Mouldings, great customer service Smile

Mods,

As there are posts in this thread that give the impression that Viking Moulding are unresponsive and lacking customer care and it is only in the very last post that they are vindicated, is it possible, in fairness, to change the title of thread to something like "Great service, Viking Mouldings"?
