Hi, I have holidayed many times on the broads, and recently we have been hiring one of Silverline's Sirocco class boats. They are well maintained and looked after, but in particular, we love that high seat for passengers. Next September we want to explore the north broads and, while it is obviously possible to pick up in Brundal and pass through Yarmouth, it's a long way round, and I have no idea what the tides are yet. So - does anyone know of a boat or boats in the north broads of a similar quality to Silverline with that high seat please? Any hints, tips, or advice will be gratefully received.

I have seen that Silverline are selling off their fleet at the moment , it may be worth giving them a call as I wouldn’t be surprised if some of their current fleet appears in a “northern” boatyards fleet.

That's interesting. I just checked, and I can still hire either Silver Sirocco or Silver Solano next year, although some weeks have already gone, so it looks as if they won't be for sale.

Have a look at Ferry Marina’s Tanzanite. That has a high bench seat. It was an ex privately owned boat and is very comfortable and well laid out.

Well of that specific design, there is: Rexmore from Barnes Brinkcraft in Wroxham and Broadland Galaxy, Jamaica and Monte Carlo from Richardsons in Stalham. You might also want to consider these, which are are all well furnished and actually have a double "front seat" Benmore, Royall Oak and Brinks Serenade from Barnes in Wroxham. Gardenia Girl from Summercraft in Wroxham and Conway Bridge from Bridgecraft in Acle.

Royal Oak was sold 2 years ago to a private buyer. Gardenia Girl now is privately owned as Summercraft sold off most off their fleet.

Hedgehog, you are right about Royall Oak, but Gardenia Girl was brought back into service this summer, and is available to hire right through next year. https://www.hoseasons.co.uk/boat-holidays/gardenia-girl-bh1183

Yes, you are correct. Both Gardenia 1 & 2 were listed for sale but only one of them was sold

Many thanks for all those suggestions. It's my birthday tomorrow (shed loads of candles alas ) so I won't be able to check in detail until the weekend, but I will probably find something in all those.
