Hi everyone, we are looking to book a holiday on the Broads next year, 2 adults and 2 greyhounds, Does anyone have any recommendations for a holiday on a boat, boathouse or lodge. Thanks

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I can't actually make a recommendation, as I live only a mile from my own boat and have never considered renting a lodge or boathouse.

I see many boats, private and hire, which have dogs as members of the crew, but it's not always that easy to find a suitable mooring to get them off the boat for exercise and necessary functions (particularly during school holidays on the Northern Rivers, which can get very busy), but people do seem to manage it.

Hiring a boat, if you haven't hired one before, can be somewhat restricting, if you're not sure if you'd like a totally boating holiday. You may want to consider a lodge or boathouse, which comes with a dayboat (or hire a dayboat once you're here). That way you can explore on water, and get out and about in your car as well. Best of both worlds, perhaps.

I can recommend this place for holiday cottages. I moor our boat there. The owners are very friendly and helpful and dogs are welcome in all the properties.
