Barnes are the only yard who hire these boats out as has already been confirmed.

They were built and were exclusive to a boatyard called Topcraft on Oulton Broad which subsequently ceased operations 2 or 3 years ago. Barnes purchased the boats from them at that time.

Reading your views on your first time afloat I would just like to reassure you that a boating holiday is well suited to those who like a quieter life (on occasions). My wife is also petite and we manage moorings at all points of the Broads including Yarmouth. I think the advice to stay north of Acle is good for your first experience. Above this point you will not have more than a foot or so in height to step onto shore. Once you see it in the flesh you will see you were imagining obstacles which do not actually exist. Prepare to be bewitched!

Hi Philip,

When these boats were owned by Topcraft based in Oulton Broads the wife and I hired the two berth Topliners many times.

I also agree and believe that Barnes Brinkcraft are the only hire boatyard that purchased these boats from Topcraft.

If Barnes Brinkcraft keep these boats in the same top condition as Topcraft did they are really nice and comfortable boats.

Unusually the sink is in the cockpit so curtains may need to be closed but on the plus side plenty of room.

Also some layouts you need to go through the toilet/shower room to get to the main living and bed area.

See pic. The interior was great as was the stern stone slab patio area  Cheers

Kind Regards

The Topliners were originally built to take your own caravan, If you look at the photo you'll seen where the joins are either side on the stern, that used to allow the stern centre section to drop down.
Sadly the economics didn't work out as you were paying almost as much to hire the boat with your caravan as a normal hire. There few were built originally and they were converted to the format shown.
