Hi,
Just booked a 7 night break from Richardsons for March next year and was shocked to find out the boat was going to be ready for 4pm boarding.
A bit of mental work later and a look at sunset times revels that is going to be dark at about 5.45pm so it don't leave much time for the usual stuff (familiarisation etc).
If I'd had know this I wouldn't have booked the boat as it stated the start times will be quoted on confirmation.
Has anyone any luck at getting these start times moved?

Roll away the stone.

hi there ,
personally i'd ring them nearer your booking time , imhop , i think your boat will be ready before the start time , when we use to hire we'd always get there for lunch time ,let them know we where there ,most of the time the boat was ready and told we could of load ,

I agree with Steve. I normally arrive about lunch time.  I have found boats are often ready before the time stated. I think they need to cover themselves.

As you are going very early in the year their is a good chance that the boat may not be booked the week before.

I  check the relevant website just before going to see if the boat is free the week before.  If so it's a good chance the boat will be ready early as they can prepare it the previous day or before.

Kind Regards
Alan...

We normally hire in March and are away latest 1300.
You'll get another letter a week before.
Think last year the office was close and manager sent us on our way.

The general rule with Richardson's is 2pm for a short break and 4pm for a week or more.

But as has already been said the boats are often ready early so always best to turn up early just in case.

I'm on a short break a week on Friday and have received a letter advising me that my boat should be ready at 1pm instead of 2pm.

enjoy your holiday!!!

Jim.
