Hi everyone!

Right I need some help please! My lovely boyfriend is treating me to yet another holiday with the broads and as I have been ill he is letting me choose whatever boat I want!! The problem is I am getting more and more confused the more I search. We used to use DRL but they are not in business no more. He told me to try and find a independent boatyard as they are usually cheaper but when I search I come up with blakes/hoseasons ect.

As funds are tight we need a good deal! We are going to book at the end of September when the prices go down and we just need a 2 person cruiser (but I would like one when there is seating at the front so I can sit outside whilst he drives!!!!) Also we will be coming via train from oop north so a station pick up would be very handy indeed – train goes to Acle & Wroxham)!

Any ideas would be great where we can get a good deal???

Thanks so much

Sara

Summercraft or Royals (Both Wroxham) may worth a call, both turn out excellent boats but may not be the cheapest, not sure its years since we hired.

Edited because my brain works faster than my fingers.

If the southern rivers appeal then I would try Pacific Cruisers on the Chet.

If it was me on a tight budget it would be Richardsons every-time as they have a bigger choice of two berth cheaper boats than anyone else and there service is second to non,ok boats are not sparkly new but there is nothing wrong with them and I speak as an X-hirer

I agree with Bricktop Pacific Cruisers .The Price advertised is inncludes Damage waiver Cancellation fee and Parking for 1car . Whitch are charged extra at  most other boatyards Pacific Emerald  would fit your requirements I have hired Emerald many times .No Panic at low bridges and when going forward the rear well becomes a  suntrap .Take blow up cushions  and some string to  tie them to boat  on breezy days Stay Safe Fred

Honestly, I would take a look at Bridge Craft at Acle.  If you look While they have no website of their own,On Hoseasons Bridge Craft Page (then click 'boat info') you will see their range and competitive prices. Something like Humber Bridge might suit you both.

You can certainly call them up to book and see if they will 'do a deal' - their prices sometimes are lower than Richardson's for the same class of boat.

All there boats seem very well turned out and internally have nice things like decent bedding/curtains and the like.  They are close to Acle (may do station pick up) but if not the taxi ride from the station is not a long one.

Although not small, Barnes Brinkcraft have some nice forward steer boats which look very nice too - and within walking distance of the station in Wroxham.

Of course Richardson's at Stalham and Acle offer a wide choice of boats, but I get the feeling you may like something a little - shall we say 'luxurious' at a good price and perhaps why Richardson's have not caught your eye so far.
