Today I have my shortlist down to 8.  Tomorrow it will probably be 12 completely different boats.

I've looked at the review section and of the 8 boats there are just 2 boats reviewed ( 3 reviews in total).

More external photographs, (21) but as first timers would like to know about the interiors 9 of which 7 were of the Bahama class) and of course facilities, handling etc.

Any advice - perhaps I'm looking at the wrong place or something or am I unreasonably expecting everyone this site to have left reviews and few do perhaps?

Feel free to point me in the right direction.

hi there ,
welcome to the forum , certainly it does need a little updating , but now as the peak season kicks into full flow the reviews should start updating over the weeks ,so remember folks do try and please keep this section updated if you hire recently or have a break coming up shortly ,
thank you

steve and vicky

Do peruse the boat yeard websites Steve, because there are some good internal pictures around. Yards that spring to mind for available internal shots are Royall's, Topcraft, Swan Craft & Pacific Cruisers. There are several others e.g. Sandersons, Summercraft (have I found something they don't do right?!) where internal shots are much harder to come by so good luck!

Hi Steve

Well the hireboat info section is a resource that is as good as the amount of time people are prepared to put into it really.  A lot of people ask for internals but I notice often after their holiday they havent taken any or added any there.

Indeed it would be more useful to people if there were more internals, but it needs people to remember to take them and then add them on their return.  Best advice is to take them the second you go aboard, before you load your stuff on as it is easiest, and when your on holiday having to tidy up to take a picture or remember once your into the full swing of holiday enjoyment is unrealistic I guess! Smile

I've been on a bit of a crusade to put as many internals on as I can snap when I'm over, and with others contributions I actually thought it had grown to be quite a useful & unique little resource.... but yes, if people could post internals up of boats they'd hired more often then it would be even better and I too would be pleased to see it.

Thanks everyone.  I hope my post didn't come across as over-critical - the info on here is plentiful (in some case it is information overload).  I guess I see a lot of people on here asking a about a certain boat they will hire in x months time, then don't do a review about it themselves lol.

Dan I happen to like your crusade.  As well as your pics so that is all good.

Perhaps we all get a little forgetful/lazy after our holidays.

Permission to make me walk the plank should I not post many pics and a solid review Playful Wink

Hi Dan and all

I have just returned to Johannesburg from Norfolk having been there following the death of my father.

We're hiring Contessa in September and those nice people at Richardsons let me have a look round on Saturday. I took some internal shots which I'll post later.

I certainly find the review section very useful, its an important part of choosing a boat.

Regards
Geoff

I've just uploaded some internal pictures from the boats I nosed on during my last Broads trip. I seem to have managed to get some of boats that didn't have any internal pics, such as Admiral, Fun Time, Gold Gem & Corsair Light. If you're hiring, or even if you're not & you like looking on boats, try to remember to take some shots & upload them. They're even more useful than the 'official' brochure & website shots (which sometimes don't exist anyway).

For some reason the 'Boat Reviews' thread no longer appears on the 'last 24 hours list? If that could be fixed it would be handy.
