Hi Alan, A boat with wing mirrors, would certainly make reversing easier. Smile

On the car theme......

you know those convertibles (Peugeot?) that have a hard top....

how about an aft-cockpit boat with retractable hard top for very bad weather? Playful Wink

these are all things that are on boats already, sliding hard roofs etc

I'd like a boat that floods itself. Might sound daft but normally travels along 8 / 9 foot out of the water but get to wroxham bridge open a valve, water floods into bilge tanks and down she goes. 7 foot, under the bridge then pump it out again.

I like to be nice and high up as you get a good view over the banks and the flood walls, but also like to get under bridges.

I would say 34'long and about 11'9" beam centre wheelhouse (raised floor to give good views) go back to a 'Broadhaven type' canopy drop down sides and fold back top so you can have top up but sides open. Also go back to high foredeck to increase internal cabin volume foreward. Aft access well with engine along to reduce internal noise but hydrulic box and rest of gubbins under wheel house floor. No gas, deisel powered warm air heating and cooker. Electric fridge and microwave. Probably 5 berths in 3 cabins one with bunk beds top one of which folds down.

We hsve hired muscadet which has an aft canopy which has removeable sides, but I like denise's idea of a retractable hard top.

I too think Denise has hit on a good plan there...I've never hired the aft cockpit boats because I've always thought putting the canopy up and down looks like a bit of a mither (lazy I know!).

I wonder if the hood may jam half way between up and down as I hear has been known too happen on the cc cars!  Whoops!

Also I like the idea suggested on another thread of air-conditioning, I see some boats abroad have it now and think this would be abrilliant feature.
