For the first time since the early 90`s (when Mowatt or whatever had it away on there toes with my £100 deposit) We have booked a week Sep30th with Herbert Woods "Evesham Light".
Has anyone used Woods recently and can comment? I see Helens sister has and Helen recons its the best pump out she has had Wink . So at least the boat should smell sweet Playful

Colin - only time I went with them was 2000 so I appreciate they've had time to improve since then. Had a 'Northern Light' which was OK but could have been a lot better. Attention to detail was lacking. Upholstery was tatty & we had a call out for the sliding roof which should have been sorted before the boat left the yard. Hope you have better luck.

Hi Colin

Not sure whether I should reply to this one as I've never hired from them, but....

I find the fleet a bit of a funny mix of inconsistent standards, I dont think any craft are awful, and there always quite smart on the outside, theyve definately been investing at a reasonable level, many older boats have new galleys etc etc, but soft furnishings, many laminates, mattresses etc certainly seem of a lower standard or older age than another large operator I know of and so I wouldn't personally reccommend them without boarding the boat for viewing that I was interested in first.

Let us know how you get on

All the best

Dan

We had Pico light ...the yard, office staff and boat were brilliant, I called an enigineer out as the 12 volt socket wasn't working (need to charge camera, phones & gps) he had fixed us within an hourof the call.

Nothing at all was to much trouble for them.

My son and a shedload of his mates hired from Herbert Woods last year as a post A-level celebration week and whilst the boat wasn't in absolute tip top condition, he said the people at the yard were helpful and had a nice approach. Some of the guys are hiring again from Woods later this year so they were pretty happy with the setup overall
