Hi
I had seen a cruiser going out under tuition and suspected DRL Marine might have a cruiser for hire. Yesterday at the Staithe it sat with an available for hire sign in the window.

The boat is an Elysian 27 style aft cockpit cruiser called White Admiral. The cruiser is owned and managed by Freedom Boating Holidays owned by Darren Lewis of DRL Marine and Andrew Banner of Norfolk Cottage Holidays.

Good luck with the new venture, I hope it proves very successful.

Hi all

Firstly, best of luck with thier new venture, but is it me or do the prices seem a bit on the expensive side? Having said that i haven't hired for a while so they could be about right for all i know.

Wow! A new hire yard, now that's almost unknown! Looks like it could be worth supporting. The boat looks fine judging by the interior photos. It's not clear from the website where their base is (but I'm assuming it's Womack from Fendoff's post) or what the prices are beyond next February. Price for next week is slightly high, but only slightly. Richardson's equivalent offering (Crown Gem) is about £80 less but it might not be equivalent - time will tell.

I thought it looked expensive, and comparing it with Pacific's Bounty which is in excellent condition then it would seem to be.

However they are marketing it as a 4 berth, pacific only as a two berth.

Unless they played around with the Time and Relative Dimensions In Space theory it will be a tight fit to accommodate 4, especially if they are all adults.

Morning All

Like Simon I am delighted to see a new venture/company on the hireboating front, which is quite a rarety these days, on the Broads at least.

I wish them the best of luck.  The boat looks quite smart, but I also looked at the prices to try & see what supported the extra they charge.  As of yet I have not found it.  Pets, fuel etc all seem extras which at first glance I thought would have been the difference.

With a reputation & customer base to build I hope that this pricing issue (in relation to similar or more newly refitted craft of similar style) does not hinder theur success - it really would be super to see another nice quality small yard do well.

All the best

Dan

Like others have said it is nice to see a new yard offering cruiser for hire.  I noticed that a new user called "norfolkcottageh" joined on the 14th Oct so maybe they could answer the concerns over pricing.  They show their website as being for Norfolk Cottage Holidays.
