I don't know the proper name but is it a Supermore (late 70s) type?

Steve

P.S. No - forget that, the helm would have been on the other side!! Back to the drawing board.

Great boats.. A very imposing design, partly due to the very high topsides I guess. I'd have one anyway.. Totally impractical on the broads but they look great.

Hi Jonzo,

I's have one too!  They're a very attractive design, especially for there year, I think they're very smart & sleek looking.  I think you can navigate most of the finest parts of Broadland with them.

Have I forgotten any Westward 38's on hire - I can think of Tamar Bridge (but hate the colour combination), as I think now Horning Pleasurecraft have sold the Camargues this design is getting a bit rare.

Yeah that was a bold statement.

Probably my favourite mould is the AF Crystal 37 which is limited to the same areas as the Westward.. But that allows you access to the majority of the Broads system. I reckon the Westward 38 is 2nd favourite.

I didn't realise the Camargues had been sold.. Not many left at all then. I've seen a private one several times recently in that Marina opposite the public Staithe in Horning though.

Hi Dan,

Checkout www.ayb.co.uk ref number aybl2448, they have a Westwood 38 for sale, I think it's one of the Castle craft fleet.

Hi Phil

Do you know how much Jessica is for sale for?

I did ask Richardsons for an ex hire cruiser list which did arrive a couple of weeks ago, but only listed about 10 boats (I'd estimated more around 60-80 abandanoed/for sale at the yard or Horning).

The info they sent (list of names and a brochure) did little to convince to look at it the possibility any further, and no Westward 38's were for sale.

The ex Castle Craft boat is a Westward, but the centre cockpit design which I don't like so much, but cheers for the tip off.

I am feeling tempted to become a boat owner again.  But living in Stockport and being a bit of a workaholic I'm not too sure buying a boat in Norfolk is very wise??!!  Plus I've got a 'new' house on the horizon that needs some serious money spending on it  Frown

Since the Westward 38 is title 'Gazelle' I think she is probably one of the Ludham Marine/Broadwater Cruisers boats
