Chicol, it seems that you have got “a lot on your plate” at the moment.

And watch your speed, because you will have to “wash up”.

Curses! I knew that immediately! Wandered up there in my Norman many moons ago. Was a very peaceful and enjoyable wander!

Yes, indeed  -  Brograve Mill beside Waxham New Cut, off Horsey.

We only went as far as the mill, which is in very poor condition internally.  The BA Ranger boat was there, having stopped for lunch!

Went up there to the bridge in May 1986 (was it that long ago?) on a Hampton Safari.

We have Whispering Reeds Bittern for a full day in a couple of weeks and my son would like to make the trip to the bridge if possible, as there and Catfield are the only extremities on the Broads he hasn't been to.

Does anybody know if weed would be a problem on Waxham Cut at this time of the year?

I went to Catfield for the first time about five years ago on a day boat from Woods. Lovely trip, although on our way back we met one of Woods ex 40/45ft Connoisseurs at the "crossroads" halfway down. Think they must have give up there because they turned up at the Pleasure Boat about 20 minutes after us.

That was the only boating I have done on the Broads when nobody wanted to drive - it was a glorious day and nobody wanted to be stuck under the front canopy with the extremely noisy front mounted engine.
