We are coming down for our second stint on the Broads towards the end of October. Our first visit was in July and thanks to may peoples help we had a successful holiday with plenty of bream and smaller fish. At the end of october we come with another mission which is to catch a Pike.Over the last few years we have had some but more by accident than anything else so can anyone give us some tips please ie Spinners over Dead bait, ledger over floats etc and any other tips that might aid our trip. Any help will be much appreciated
I think if you are after the big girls then dead baits, better of with a float than ledger only because bites can be hit sooner and there is less chance of hooking the fish deep, lives will catch more but generally smaller fish, lures when the water isn't to coloured and when the water is not to cold. Please ensure that you have the correct tools to deal with these fish as they don't like being handled. Tight lines...
Hi Thanks for the reply and yes we will have all the correct tackle for the job. We take fish welfare very seriously whether its Pike or normal course fish and besides we would get a clip round the back of the head from the other half if we didn't
