We are hiring a boat (Bathtub) from Stalham for 1 week in September I'm new to sailing and I want to try some fishing for only the 2nd time too, I plan to Fish from the front well of the boat when Moored obviously, will I be able to fish with comfort from sitting in the well of the boat or will it be better to fish from the bank, I'm planning on using a basic rod set-up and Landing Net. Thank you in advance of any advice

You should have no problem fishing from the front well of a bathtub, have you already got tackle or are you having to buy new. If you are buying, might I suggest you forget the rod and real, buy a 5 metre whip and half a dozen ready made rigs, length 12 ft size 16/18 barbless hook, the only other thing you will need is a plummet to check the depth of water (fish on the bottom or a couple of inches off), a landing net and a maggot box. The whole lot should set you back no more than £35 and you can be fishing in minutes.
Good luck

As a bathtub owner I fish from the well when necessary but find it more comfortable sitting on the bank.
From the well you cannot sit down you are either kneeling or standing to see the water.

On the bank It is easier sitting on a seat casting out and WHEN you catch it is easier to bring the fish in.

Also in the chair it is easier to leave your rod out, lay your tackle on the bank (wait for a reply) and doze off.

dont forget your ea licence to fish, if over 12 yeas old. stalham marina is stuufed wit fish, loose feed maggots all the time, around a dozen every five mins.  the rivers not so easy. bit of a headbanger in fact.salhouse broad can be good, as can ranworth. oulton is very good ,rockland marina and  the next one up whose name escapes me is easy as well. at the top of the chet.
