Hi, I'm looking at getting a boat in early October and was wondering where the best place is for tench and bream, and what sort of weight can I expect. Cheers

Where are you getting your boat from. Bream can be caught in most parts of the Broads but Tench are not so common, in fact rather rare.

Well that was going to be dependant on the replies on here, but from what I can gather Horning seems a favourite area.

In my experience and opinion the best Bream fishing on the Broads is on the Yare but it is more challenging because of the greater Tidal Flow. The area on the Yare downstream of Rockland is considered by many as one of the premier River Fishing venues in the UK at the moment and as the move back to River Matches away from puddle splodging it is going to get busier. One of the Preston Innovations feeder masters qualifiers was held there a couple of weeks ago.
Ive seen some big bags caught from the park in Oulton Broad after dark, and plenty of fish to be caught on the Waveney if the weed has died down
On the North my favourite places are St Bennets Abbey and Fleet Dyke but Cold Harbour can produce as well.
.
Dependant on when you go in October the Rivers on thw South are generally quieter (if your going half term week that will certainly be the case) and therefore less hassle to fish during the day.
The best time to fish for Bream is at night and if you set up properly feed generously and can keep the fish in your swim, an 80-100lb bag should not be hard to acheive.

TT's covered most of it, I've had some decent bream from Acle but you do need strong gear as it's quite tidal also heard good reports from Womack
