All the tidal rivers are closed to fishing for the closed-season. It is a strange situation regarding "sea" fishing, which doesn`t have a closed season. It is open to debate how far up the tidal reaches you CAN fish for "sea" fish ie. cod, whiting etc. I`m not sure what the rules are for the Yarmouth area. I believe (word of mouth) that on the river Mersey, "sea" fishing is allowed up to 5 miles inland, after that it is classed as "coarse" fishing, and therefore needs an Environment Agency licence, and may well have a closed season (16/3 - 15/6)
