Hi

Being a very keen pike fisherman, when I moved to the Norfolk Broads a few years ago I imagined that I would be out piking most weekends during the winter months. Sadly it hasn't turned out that way due to work and other commitements etc. I have now decided to get off my back-side and get out there fishing.

Does anybody know if you can fish on the grassed area to the left of The Swan at Horning(where they usually park Southern Comfort)? Is it even worth a bash there?

Obviously I'm not expecting people to tell me their hotspots but any other likely areas where a broadland piking novice might encounter some sport would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I am not sure if you can fish there or not, my guess would be probably not, others may say different.  Its a well known fact that piking is not what is was on the broads nowadays and its very likely you could sit there all day and not get a run, you would be better off trying with a boat.

cheers

hello mate,
As said, not sure about fishing rights there and by boat is the easier way to catch but in saying that. Fishing from the bank in the area around the swan pub gives you as good a chance as any.
