Hi ya to all you anglers,
i have recentley took up carp fishing and would like to know what fish there is on the broads and what bait you use to catch them with.
we are booked to go next september and im hoping to do a spot of fishing while the missus is doing tea on an evening Smile

The main fish you are likely to catch are as below

Roach: Baits: Maggots, casters, hemp, bread, worms

Bream: Baits: Lots and lots of groundbait (crumb), bread, maggots, red worms, sweecorn

Pike: Bait: Artifical lures and spinners, fish baits.

Perch: Baits: Worm, maggot, small fish & lures

You may come into contact with a few other species such as Ruffe, Dace, Gudgeon. There a few Carp and Tench but your chances of coming into contact with them are extremely remote.



One of the central Responsibilities of the Broads Authority is to promote public enjoyment of the Broads. And that should include bank anglers and all other broads users,
